really debris are at this point. for the game tomorrow, not only the temperature but the rain as well. the forecast coming up. anne arundel county police have identified a man who died last night after nestled in brooklyn park. he was found on ritchie highway just after 9:00 last night. they say that a 50-year-old was involved in a physical altercation and later died at the hospital. the police do not believe it was random and are asking anybody with information to contact them. baltimore city police have identified the two officers involved in a pursuit that ended with gunfire early thursday. a 17-year veteran and four-year veteran responded to the scene. the suspect pulled a gun from his waistband, then one of the officer shot and missed the suspect, who fled and was later arrested. the two officers are assigned to the patrol division and are in administrative leave.

hundreds of volunteers are working to improve baltimore, the 10th annual day of service run by a nonprofit civic volunteer association. some beneficiaries of the product are residents of the park side gardens apartments. a fire bombing forced them out of their homes last month. the group is pitching in to help with what has already been an impressive response to the fire. >> we are not leading anything because we did not have to. people have really stepped up by donating things. we are sorting those, making sure they get to folks who need them. >> close to 30,000 people have volunteered with civic works since its inception. dramatic turns on the campaign trail, the latest economic numbers showing the unemployment rate was better than expected. the presidential candidates had their first debate, and they are

an extremist clear-cut and four other suspect appeared in court today hours after they were brought for into the u.s. to face trial. the preacher did not enter replete of charges he conspired to set up a terrorist training camp and at oregon and abducted 16 hostages. four other men pled not guilty. the vatican says that the former butler of pope benedict is expected to get a papal apartment after stealing the pope's private documents and

linking them to a journalist. he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. he said he did because he felt that the pope was not been informed of what was going on in the vatican and that exposing them publicly would put the church on the right track. >> i would not say anybody in the vatican is happy about this. it is a sad chapter, but it appears to be a just trial and just sentenced. >> he is serving his sentence under house arrest for now. cool the temperatures are here, john. >> they are in process, running about 10 degrees above average this past week or so, but we are going way below average the next couple days. right now, 64

the latest economic numbers showed the unemployment rate was better than expected and the vice presidential candidates are prepping for a showdown and kentucky. >> in his weekly address, president obama is talking about the sudden drop in unemployment that is good news for the economy and great news for his reelection campaign. >> more americans are entering the work force, more americans are getting jobs. >> unemployment dropped from 8.1% to 7.8%, but met romney has his own take.

these clouds, moving to the east. most of this was on the eastern shore. now the skies had cleared for the most part. this cold front, and it is doing what a cold front does, dropping the temperature. 79 high at the airport, right before noon, then the temperature starting falling. we're in the mid-60s now. the low today will be at midnight, probably in the 50's. the typical high this time of year is 70. the typical low is 49, so definitely becoming more autumn- like. the temperatures in the 70's on the lower eastern shore, a thin green and darker green and blue, indicating cooler temperatures, 40's and oakland in garrett county. the satellite image, the air has been pretty dry. the front did have -- did not have much to work with, but there were some showers in the state of maine.

it is quite a bit cooler off to the west. the front is moving off the shore line right now, coming in behind it on breezy conditions. the chilly air coming out of central canada, snow on the ground in minnesota and to the north, north of lake superior. that is from the same storm a day or so ago. looks like it will be parked here a while. the rapid temperature change, 60's, 40's, and almost 30 and south dakota, very cold air coming in behind this front. we will be stuck with this the first really good shot of the autumn weather, and it will stick. 45-49 the overnight low, and we are clearing out, but more clouds. there is another disturbance from the south. the temperatures colder than we have seen. northwest wind diminishing, small craft advisory on the day.

by daybreak, 40's in western maryland. the initial chill texas into the 40's. during the day, we will only be in the mid-50s according to the computer models. as we go deeper into the forecast, monday morning, 30's west of the chesapeake bay, chilly conditions, probably frost conditions to the west. the forecast tomorrow, 50-54 the high. the disturbance passes to the south, but it will be strong enough to push moisture up from the south and give us cloudy and won again/off-again reconditions tomorrow. north, northwest wind at 5-10. not the best of days. the insta-weather future-cast, the moisture coming up from the south during the day tomorrow, right about game time, tomorrow afternoon, evening. then things clear out. for the game tomorrow evening,

the orioles did a lot of celebrating last night following their wild-card win over the rangers in arlington, but now it

is time to focus on the yankees. weather permitting, game 1 tomorrow at 6:00 at camden yards. but showalter said that jason hammel will get the start against cc sabathia. last night, joe saunders allowed just one run at over just five innings. adam jones's sacrifice fly gave the birds the 2-1 lead. nate mcclouth scores another. in the ninth, a couple of insurance runs. how about their rookie, manny machado, base hit, 4-1. things got a little bit dicey for jim johnson, but he gets david murphy to fly out. the orioles win, 5-1, their first playoff win since game 5 of the 1997 american league championship series. >> as a baseball player and

athlete, you always want to prove people wrong. we strive on that. nobody really gave me a chance and i wanted to prove people wrong. usually the ravens are the talk of town this time of year, and at 1:00 things will be back to normal tomorrow when the ravens face the kansas city chiefs in kansas city. normally this would be considered a track game, but a fainthe same thing could have bn said about the browns a couple weeks ago. the ravens pulled out the victory and they're hoping to do the same tomorrow. >> that is out it is. it is not college football. every team in this league is really, really good. if you understand that, you have a chance to find a way to win. if you don't understand that, you have no chance in this league.

>> college football, navy-air force, and this was tight. fourth quarter, navy trailing, 15 yards out. he scores a touchdown. the two-point conversion is good, kind the game at 21-21, over time. in overtime, reynolds trying for the end zone, fumble, but it is recovered by navy. it takes a while to sort this out. finally ruled a touchdown, the midshipmen take the seven-point lead and they win, 28-21, recapturing the commander in chief trophy. the maryland terrapins in action against wake forest, right now trailing 14-13 in the third quarter. >> the game tomorrow real quick, what do you think? how do you see this going? >> obviously did the yankees are the favored, but the orioles are playing with house money. hopefully being loose will give
